CHAMELETUNA & HEARTHUG
I am an innovative thinker, a media technology artist, and an independent educator driven by a desire to push the boundaries of art and technology. My main endeavor is the IlyaSobol.Art, an interdisciplinary public art and interactive light art studio that bridges art, design, and technology.
Our strength lies in seamlessly blending art and entertainment, giving rise to what we term “Artainment”. While traditional approaches typically involve using art and technology to design, we adopt a different perspective: technology plus design equals art. However, we prefer to describe our work as “Artainment",” as it embodies a fusion of artistic expression and entertainment.

MEGALOTORUS
to·rus /'tôrəs/
A donut-shaped flow of energy found throughout nature-from atoms and galaxies, to life itself. In sacred geometry, the torus is the first form to emerge from the Genesis Pattern, a balance, flow, and continuous creation.
MegaloTorus brings this shape to life, evoking the invisible toroidal field that surrounds our planet—the same field that shapes the aurora. Through flowing light and sound mapped across its structure, participants step inside a sculptural interpretation of Earth’s hidden geometry, experiencing the rhythm behind the northern lights in a new and immersive way.
At its core, MegaloTorus is inspired by the torus—a self-organizing geometric form found throughout nature and physics. One of the most profound examples of this shape is the Earth’s magnetic field, which takes a toroidal form and plays a central role in creating the aurora borealis. When solar particles interact with this invisible field, they spiral toward the poles, lighting up the sky in vibrant waves of color and motion.
MegaloTorus translates that hidden geometry into a sculptural experience of light and sound. Participants are invited to step into a physical interpretation of the magnetic field that shapes the aurora, surrounded by flowing color and rhythm. The piece explores the forces that give rise to this celestial phenomenon—making the structure and motion of the aurora something you can step inside and feel.

FOREST OF CONFUSION
Forest of Confusion is an interactive grove of Colorado Blue Spruce that invites families to explore, play, and bring the forest to life.
Each six-foot “tree” rests in a soft blue glow, a nod to the Colorado Blue Spruce, until you wander close (gentle hugs work, too). Proximity activates the trees, shifting them from blue into new colors and patterns, and as more trees awaken, the entire 60-foot grove builds toward a shared finale.
When every tree is activated, the forest bursts into a synchronized light show you create together. The magic is supported (quietly) by low-voltage LEDs on a wireless mesh network, powered by rechargeable batteries, and solar panels.
Best experienced after dark, when the colors truly bloom. Please keep your feet on the ground, no climbing, so everyone can share the moment safely. Help find the last resting trees, trigger the finale, and enjoy the win together. #forestofconfusion
